General nutritional requirements are to consume more vegetables, fruits, and whole-grain products. Reducing the quantities of red meat especially processed meats which are high in fat, reducing fat, sugar, alcohol, and salt in our daily diet for staying at a healthy and stable weight.

When people are treated with cancer, taking a normal diet is not possible as the side effects in the patients may not feel well to eat.

Diet changes are done during the cancer treatment to help the body to build strength and be able to cope up with the effects of cancer treatment. People may need high protein and calorie foods to maintain the weight during the treatment. Nutritional needs of the people may vary from person to person in cancer treatment.

Eating well while treated for cancer might help:

Feel better.
Keeping strength and energy.
Maintain stable weight.
Better tolerate ti the treatment or side effects
Reduce the risk of infection.
Having better heal and fast recovery
Lowering the taste changes, diarrhoea, and nausea
Improving the response of body to treatment
