Having insurance is always beneficial to the people before any disease infection. It will help to reduce the financial burden that arouses in everyone’s mind. The gaps in health insurance leads to the limited access to the treatment and less rate of survival

Two cases are more prevalent in major groups of people are those having the insurance but not afford to use it or those not having an insurance. These both issues will result in poor cancer care and survival.

People with continuous insurance coverage than those with interrupted coverage were likely to receive less cancer, screening, treatment, and prevention. If these people were diagnosed with cancer, they were:
More likely to have an advanced stage at the time of diagnosis
Less likely to receive better treatment
More likely to get worse survival
These findings were similar to the multiple types of cancer including breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers.

After the advent of COVID-19 crisis, many people had lost their jobs and even the health insurance schemes as it is given by the employers. This also leads to delayed cancer screenings, fewer diagnoses at an early stage and even the treatment will start later.

Insurance disruptions in coverage occur and are common with the people of lower income groups and happen when a person is in transition to jobs. Eligibility for medical coverage changes with the change of health plan providers.

So governments has to be involved to develop a better coverage options in medical insurance schemes and to provide health insurance for the people of lower income group as they had less coverage options

Various research reports stated that the gap of insurance disruptions may lead to big effects in cancer patients and survivors. They have a strong influence due to the emotional stress not only of disease and but also of meeting the financial needs through insurance coverage
