Chirata is a medicinal plant that can live at 1200-3000 metres in the Himalayan region with the scientific name Swertia chirata. It is bitter to taste.

It can reduce stress and anxiety as well as in controlling constipation. It aids in blood purification so chirata is widely used in many Ayurvedic medicines. Vitamin C in chirata can improve eyesight. Due to its anthelmintic effect, chirata can be used to remove worms in the stomach. Amarogenin in chirata has anti cancer properties. By these health benefits we can consider chirata as a good medicine for our health.
